Fundamentals

Fundamentals | 2023

Fundamentals is a moving light installation in the form of a large rotating dodecahedron of approximately 85 cm in diameter, the individual surfaces of which consist of plexiglass with iridescent material.
Fundamentals creates a play between light, reflection, shadow and reflection. A game that invites you to be in contact with yourself, the space and your loved ones in a different way. By rotating and illuminating the shape differently, you sometimes see your own reflection, an infinitely colorful universe or you look straight into the gaze of another viewer through the shape. This play of sight lines, depth and reflection invites you to be amazed and to be in contact with everything around you.

Fundamentals comes in different sizes (45 cm, 65 cm and 85 cm) and can therefore be placed in different ways.
The largest Fundamental has LED strips on the ribs on the inside and a halogen lamp in the ball. All Fundamentals are rotating and are illuminated from the outside with spotlights.

The light choreography of the biggest Fundamentals is made on a soundscape by Nathan Marcus. The entire show lasts 45 minutes in which the viewer will experience the surrounding space in different ways. Some parts of the choreography are energetic and turbulent while other parts are calm and soothing.
